Something for the Adults

Beach Ocean Exploration Adults
This class offers the opportunity to explore the beach and ocean environment including the blow hole, giggle crack and various tide pools. Education about the marine environment and ocean safety will be provided. Participants will engage in physical activity such as running, swimming and snorkeling. Bring mask, fins and snorkel.

Mission Statement:

Our goal is to educate participants on ocean safety and marine life while allowing them to grow and learn in a positive environment.  We hope that participants will gain self-confidence, knowledge and courage as they explore the ocean habitats.  At the end of the camp we hope participants will have a better understanding and respect of the beach and ocean.

Brief  Description:

These beach ocean exploration camps will offer education about the marine environment and ocean safety. Less strenuous than the junior guard program, camps will offer beach activities that include short swims past the ocean breakers, some strenuous running, Paddle boarding, snorkeling, surfing and lifeguard games. Children will explore tide pools, learn about sea animals and have fun in an enjoyable, positive outdoor setting.

Camp participants will learn the importance of the flags on lifeguard towers, what size surf gets what flag, how lifeguards work at the beach, and how to go under waves. We will show kids activities the actual Junior Lifeguards do and positively  encouraging them to participate in the Laguna Beach Junior Guard program when they reach the required age and can pass the swim test.

Participants are not forced to swim or go into the water, but will be encouraged to do all water activities as positively as possible. .

Bring a hat, SPF 30 sunscreen, towel, sandals, fins, water and a backpack large enough to hold all gear.
