Keynote Speakers
Mark Buchalter

Mark leads the Smart Space practice in IDEO's Chicago office, a group dedicated to the creation  of strategic visions around space and the design of all aspects of an environment: from the architectural domain to its related objects, services, interactions and technology.  He has worked with healthcare clients and has also worked extensively envisioning new customer experiences since joining IDEO in 1998.  With a background in both architecture and industrial design, he has helped develop products in the furniture, consumer housewares, computer, industrial equipment, automotive and retail industries.  His longstanding desire is to explore the ways in which people relate to the objects in their lives and how environments inform the use of those objects.  Mark was a facilitator for the community team at Archeworks, working on the Chicago 2016 Olympics bid.
